The Danish band Efterklang released two music video’s for the songs “Black Summer” & “Between The Walls”, which are off their forth studio album Piramida. Kevan Funk & Benjamin Loeb the directors of the “Black Summer” music video, explain the concept of it by saying: “The conceptual basis for the Black Summer video was anchored around a desire to explore issues of incarceration and our perception of criminals. The interest was not to focus on violent criminals, it was instead to focus on individuals who end up in the penal system as a result of systemic issues around poverty, abuse and neglect. The displaced, and ultimately doomed, animals that carry the story are used to illustrate a particular commentary, one that, ironically, attempts to humanize this maligned population.”
Sebastian Birk, the director of the dark & ominous music video for “Between The Walls”, gave the song a whole new feel & mood. It portrays two lovers, the man being of an aggressive nature, however they both seem like they are hungry for each others love.
