Foals in Toronto, Canada

The Oxford four piece band, Foals, played at the Kool Haus in Toronto, Canada on Saturday May 11th, 2013. They have embarked on a huge tour, after the release of their successful fourth studio album, Holy Fire, in February of this year. The band has been going since 2005 and it is made up of Yannis Philippakis (vocals, guitar), Jimmy Smith (vocals, guitar), Walter Gervers (bass), Edwin Congreave (keyboards), and Jack Bevan (drums).

The show was fantastic, front men Yannis and Jimmy both on guitar and vocals, really made the performance exciting and exhilarating for the audience. “Prelude” was the opening song for the night, which is also the first track on Holy Fire. With Yannis constantly stage diving into the crowd whilst shredding on his guitar all of the attention was drawn to him, he made the audience really happy by standing right in front of them playing guitar solo. After a lot of riving about they decided to slow it down a bit with the calming tune of “Spanish Sahara”, which the crowd absolutely loved. Throughout the whole set, Walter and Edwin seemed like they were keeping the drummer Jack company at the back of the stage, so at times it was a bit weird when it seemed like the only people on stage was Yannis and Jimmy.

“We’ve been looking forward to the show for a very long time. And you guys haven’t disappointed us in the slightest, it’s been fucking awesome”, Yannis said smoking a cigarette before playing their newest hit, “Inhaler”. In short this show contained crowd surfing, head banging, and beer drinking. If you wanna check out Foals you can go to this link right here: http://www.foals.co.uk
